Residents are finally being allowed to go home late tonight after fires began again in Southern California today around 3 a.m. near Malibu. Fires consumed more than 4600+ acres by Saturday evening. More than 10,000 people had to flee from their homes as the flames quickly spread.
Unpredictable Santa Ana winds blowing from the west made fighting the fires even more difficult for the 1700 firefighters called to service.
Governor Schwarzenegger reactivated a state of emergency "so no time is wasted in providing any needed resources to fight these fires or help those Californians who have been impacted."
The fire started off a dirt road in the Corral Canyon area according to Los Angeles County Fire Chief Michael Freeman. Investigators are looking at arson or a downed power line as the culprit.
Reports are conflicting with either 30 to 50+ homes destroyed and approximately 20 others damaged. There are no reports of injuries or deaths.
Thank goodness no one is hurt... The poor people of So. California have had to endure a lot these past few weeks with all those fires and uncertainty. I can't believe it's become a blog item... Keep them in your prayers.

More Fires Rage in Southern California

Fires in Southern California
Multiple arsons? Different people? Different motives? In the same area? At the same time??
We learn earlier today that a "male juvenile" may have confessed to starting one of the fires in Southern California with a book of matches.
We also hear that authorities are looking for a white truck in connection with another fire in the region.
But did you hear the one that I found on a random search posted anonymously:
Blackwater wants to build an 824-acre training facility three miles north of Potrero. But Potrero's oft-stated community goal is to "maintain the existing rural lifestyle by continuing the existing pattern of residential and agricultural uses on large 40-acre lots" alongside "generally undeveloped meadows, open spaces, and hillsides."
Guess where that San Diego wildfire started...?
Hmmm... What do you think?

FEMA: What Those Initials Really Stand For...
If you had any illusions about FEMA you shouldn't have any now... We watched our fellow Americans in New Orleans get the middle finger from the feds and FEMA after Hurricane Katrina wiped most of it out and now the people in Southern California are being mind-played with, as well.
A sickly, staged show was played out on Tuesday, October 23, 2007 where six FEMA employees played at being reporters, asking questions of FEMA Deputy Administrator Harvey Johnson. It was all fun and games for them as they patted themselves on the back for the wonderful job they were doing there with Harvey Johnson even remarking, "I'm very happy with FEMA's response."
Knock, knock - hello? Anything in those skulls of yours? Don't you realize that you are playing with people's lives??? Dumb shits.. Here's your stupid sign!
