Iceland #1; USA #12 Says U.N.

In a report released today by the U.N. Human Development Index, Iceland is the most desirable country to live in beating out Norway which has held the spot for six years running.

Information for the report is based on life expectancy, educational levels and real per capita income and ranks 175 U.N. members including Hong Kong and the Palestinian territories. The report does not include Afghanistan, Somalia and Iraq because of the lack of adequate information.

Japan had the longest life expectancy at 82.3 years and Zambians had the lowest at 40.5. The U.S. scored well on real per capita GDP ($41,890) but low on life expectancy, at 77.9 years.

So pack your bags, your parkas and buy a dog sled team and head to Iceland. It's the new land of freedom and opportunity!
